When is Amazon Prime Day 2022?
This year’s Amazon Prime Day will start on Tuesday, July 12, and end on Wednesday, July 13.
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is one of the biggest shopping events of the year. It began in 2015, with a one-day extravaganza that was billed as a celebration of the company’s 20th anniversary, featuring “more deals than Black Friday.” Fast forward seven years and Prime Day hasn’t strayed far from its roots. In fact, it has grown in popularity and length—you now get two days of deep discounts.
Do You Have to Be a Prime Member to Save?
The hitch: You have to be a Prime member, which is to say that you are one of the 150 million subscribers that shell out $139 bucks a year—some select groups such as students are eligible for a discount—for a service that offers numerous rewards, most notably free two-day shipping.
Or, you can purchase a $14.99 monthly membership. As a heads up: Anyone can join Prime or start a 30-day free trial to participate in Prime Day.
What Will Be on Sale?
You’ll find deals—sometimes as much as 60 percent off—from small businesses to top brands in categories including home, electronics, fashion, beauty, grocery, nutrition, wellness and more. Last year, Prime members repeatedly added things like Cuisinart cookware sets, Crest 3D White Whitestrips, and Shark vacuums to their carts. Different deals are released at various times throughout Prime Day, so the folks at Amazon encourage you to keep hitting refresh whether you’re browsing via the app or online.
Who Else Has Prime Day Sales?
Amazon’s success has also spurred other retailers in the past to host massive sales as well. Last year alone, mass market companies such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart, Kohl’s and Bed Bath & Beyond all seized the opportunity to capitalize on the buying frenzy.
What Can I Shop On Sale Now?
Truth be told, you don’t have to wait until Prime Day to get started on shopping great fitness buys. Just ask Darren Ross, a certified personal trainer and owner of P13 Fitness, who is a regular Amazon shopper. “I purchased the majority of my gym equipment from Amazon because they have many quality options that are priced very well and because of their convenience and very fast free shipping,” he says. “I found equipment that I didn’t think I would find, such as a squat rack, plyo box, TRX, and medicine balls.”
