The community of Asotwe, near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, celebrated a significant milestone as Dr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu officially commissioned a newly built, ultra-modern police station.
The facility, funded by Dr. Agyeman-Budu, aims to enhance security and strengthen law enforcement services within Asotwe and surrounding areas.
The ceremony attracted distinguished guests from across the Ashanti Region and beyond. Among the attendees were former NPP National Chairman Hon. Peter Mac Manu, Ejisu Member of Parliament Hon.
Lawyer Kwabena Boateng, prominent chiefs, community leaders, and members of the Ghana Police Service, all showing their support for this critical community development.
In his speech, Dr. Agyeman-Budu expressed pride in contributing to the security and well-being of the Asotwe community.
“This police station represents more than just a building; it’s a beacon of hope, ensuring that justice and protection are within reach for our people,” he stated.
He emphasized his commitment to enhancing public safety and creating positive change, supported by his family and the Friends of Agyeman-Budu Foundation.
The modern police station includes a range of facilities: three cells for male, female, and juvenile detainees, each with washrooms, a station officer’s office, two CID offices, a charge office, and several washrooms.
It also comes fully equipped with a computer, a new motorbike, and spacious grounds with parking and a mechanized borehole.
The building is fully furnished, ensuring that officers have a comfortable and functional work environment.
Dr. Agyeman-Budu extended special thanks to several individuals and organizations for their contributions, including former Ejisu constituency leaders, chiefs, elders, and members of the police service who provided support throughout the project.
Addressing the police officers who will serve in the new station, he encouraged them to uphold the values of integrity, compassion, and dedication in their work, reinforcing the police-community relationship.
“This station is a testament to our collective efforts and commitment to creating a better future for all,” he said.
The new facility is a promising step toward stronger security and improved trust in law enforcement within the Asotwe and Ejisu communities, symbolizing a commitment to safety, progress, and collaboration.
